Porter Airlines Introduces Non-Stop Service Between Edmonton and Ottawa
Porter Airlines has launched its non-stop service connecting Ottawa International Airport (YOW) with Edmonton International Airport (YEG). This new addition to Porter's route network will commence with a daily roundtrip flight, utilizing the 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. Notably, the aircraft features a two-by-two seating configuration, ensuring passengers won't have to contend with middle seats.
The new Edmonton-Ottawa route provides passengers various connection options to the East Coast via Ottawa, including destinations like Newark and Boston. Additionally, Porter continues to operate multiple daily non-stop flights between Edmonton and Toronto-Pearson.
Kevin Jackson, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Porter, commented on the expansion, "Our ongoing efforts to broaden our Western Canada network are evident with this new route, which offers travelers connections to our well-established Eastern Canada destinations. Porter's commitment to superior service ensures a pleasant journey for all our passengers."Advertising
All travelers aboard Porter flights can expect a high standard of hospitality, including complimentary high-speed WiFi, a selection of premium snacks, and beverages such as beer and wine served in glassware. Myron Keehn, President & CEO of Edmonton International Airport (YEG), expressed enthusiasm about the new route, stating, "As this new flight connects two of Canada's vibrant cities, we anticipate fostering business, tourism, and government ties. In collaboration with Porter Airlines, we aim to provide travelers memorable experiences and further growth opportunities."
President and CEO of the Ottawa International Airport Authority, Mark Larocheal, shared his perspective, highlighting Porter Airlines' commitment to high service standards and the synergy their fleet of right-sized jets created, ensuring consistent connectivity between Ottawa and Edmonton.
Currently, Porter operates 11 non-stop routes from Ottawa.
