JetBlue Donates 2 Million TrueBlue Points to Make-A-Wish® in Celebration of Giving Tuesday
NEW YORK – JetBlue (Nasdaq: JBLU) has announced a generous donation of 2 million TrueBlue points to Make-A-Wish® in celebration of Giving Tuesday and JetBlue For Good month. This significant contribution continues JetBlue's longstanding tradition of service and supports Make-A-Wish in granting more wishes for children battling critical illnesses across the United States.
A Tradition of Giving
JetBlue's commitment to community service is evident in its ongoing partnership with Make-A-Wish, a national airline partner since 2012. The airline has played a crucial role in facilitating wishes for children, with more than 70 percent of all wishes involving air travel. Since September 2022, Make-A-Wish has redeemed 18.9 million TrueBlue points through JetBlue’s points donation platform, highlighting the airline's significant impact in wish-granting efforts.
Empowering Customers to Contribute
JetBlue invites its customers to join in the spirit of giving through its TrueBlue points donation platform. TrueBlue loyalty members can donate points directly to charities like Make-A-Wish and many others. This initiative allows customers to be a part of JetBlue's philanthropic efforts, ensuring that all donated points go directly to the selected charity for travel-related purposes.
Make-A-Wish: Transforming Lives
Leslie Motter, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish America, expressed gratitude for JetBlue's partnership. She emphasized the critical need for airline miles and points to fulfill travel wishes, which are essential in granting the wish of every eligible child. Make-A-Wish requires almost 3 billion airline miles and points annually to fulfill these wishes, making donations like JetBlue's invaluable.
JetBlue For Good Initiatives
In addition to donating points, JetBlue’s crewmembers have actively participated in various volunteer projects, including:
- Swing for Good: JetBlue’s annual fundraising initiative, which has raised over $9 million for charitable partners.
- Summer ACE Academies: Partnering with the Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals (OBAP) to inspire the next generation of diverse aerospace leaders.
- ‘Sweet Cases’ for Foster Love: Providing foster children with hand-decorated duffel bags and care items in partnership with Foster Love.
JetBlue’s commitment to volunteerism and community support extends beyond JetBlue For Good month, as the airline supports various initiatives year-round.
