Emirates Expands Inflight Meal Preordering Service to 92 Global Destinations

Dubai, UAE, 19 Oct 2023 - Emirates Airline has taken a significant step forward in enhancing its inflight dining experience by expanding its Inflight Meal Preordering Service to 92 global routes. This expansion includes the addition of 30 new routes, such as Riyadh, Jeddah, Delhi, Mumbai, and Kuala Lumpur.

Since the inception of this service, Emirates has successfully delivered more than 10,000 preordered meals on over 3,000 flights. On average, the airline receives over 600 meal preorders daily from its customers.

The service, designed to elevate the inflight dining experience, allows Business Class passengers to preselect their main course between 14 days and 24 hours before their flight's departure. This ensures that passengers always receive their preferred meal choice and significantly aids in reducing food wastage onboard.

Among the most popular dishes preordered are the pan-fried beef tenderloin with thyme jus, roasted new potato wedges, and steamed asparagus. Other favorites include the grilled beef tenderloin with creamy wild mushroom sauce, Kenya beans, and potato gratin. For breakfast, the cheddar cheese and chive omelette with creamy spinach, sautéed Portobello mushroom, and roasted herbed tomato has been a hit among travelers.

Emirates' commitment to providing a fine dining experience in the sky is evident. Passengers can browse the onboard menu on the Emirates website or app, selecting from a range of regionally inspired dishes made with locally sourced ingredients. Some of the chef-crafted dishes on offer include chocolate hazelnut pancakes with apricot compote for breakfast and Moroccan-style Pacific cod for lunch.

To ensure seamless service, cabin crew onboard Emirates flights use Apple devices to view the preordered selections and serve passengers their chosen dishes. This meal preordering service is part of Emirates' broader strategy to incorporate AI-enabled customer preference tracking data and onboard cabin crew reports. These tools assist in menu planning, optimal food loading, and minimizing waste.
