Delta Air Lines Expands Trans-Atlantic Schedule with Record-Setting Summer Offerings

Delta Air Lines is set to enhance its trans-Atlantic flight schedule, offering passengers an unprecedented range of destinations for the upcoming summer season. The airline has revealed plans to operate its most extensive trans-Atlantic schedule to date, connecting hubs across the U.S. to popular European destinations.

Starting from September 26, Delta will introduce nonstop service from New York's JFK airport to Naples, Italy, a historic city known as the gateway to the Amalfi coast. This new route complements Delta's existing services to other major Italian cities, including Milan, Venice, and Rome. Additionally, the airline will resume its service to Shannon, Ireland, from JFK, a route last operated in 2019. This addition will bolster Delta's presence in Ireland, which already includes routes to Dublin from various U.S. hubs.

Joe Esposito, Senior Vice President – Network Planning at Delta, highlighted the airline's commitment to providing customers with a diverse range of European destinations. He emphasized the premium services and amenities that Delta offers, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable travel experience for passengers.

From its JFK hub, Delta stands as the leading carrier to Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, with plans to operate nearly 260 weekly flights next summer, covering 18 countries and 29 destinations. Other notable additions to the JFK trans-Atlantic schedule include a thrice-weekly nonstop flight to Munich, starting April 9, 2024.

For travelers based in the southern U.S., Delta will reintroduce its nonstop flight from Atlanta to Zurich, Switzerland, operating four times a week from May 31, 2024. This service is in addition to the increased frequency of flights from Atlanta to popular European destinations like Paris and Venice.

On the U.S. west coast, Delta is extending its daily nonstop flight from Los Angeles (LAX) to Auckland, New Zealand, to a year-round service. The airline will also double its service frequency from LAX to Sydney, Australia, starting this December. Furthermore, Delta will resume its four-times-weekly service to Shanghai-Pudong International Airport from LAX, beginning March 31, 2024, enhancing connectivity to China through its partnership with China Eastern Airlines.

Delta's commitment to enhancing its flight offerings is evident in the additional flights to customer-favorite destinations, including increased services to Paris from Cincinnati and Detroit, Barcelona from JFK, Reykjavik from Detroit, and Athens from Boston.

These options cater to various travel needs, from lie-flat seats in Delta One to the elevated dining and service touchpoints in Delta Premium Select.

Delta's focus on customer experience extends to its in-flight amenities. Passengers can look forward to an extensive food and beverage program, a wide selection of in-flight entertainment options through Delta Studio, and premium amenities that enhance the overall travel experience.
