SEATTLE, September 5, 2023 — Boeing [NYSE: BA] and Aviation Capital Group LLC (ACG) have taken a monumental step in fostering sustainable aviation by finalizing an order for 13 737 MAX jets. This move amplifies ACG's order book to a staggering 47 737 MAXs, showcasing a robust commitment to fuel efficiency and environmental responsibility in the aviation sector.

A Strategic Expansion with 737-8 and 737-10 Jets

The fresh order encompasses seven 737-8 and six 737-10 jets, a strategic decision aligned with ACG's vision to diversify its single-aisle options and cater to the soaring customer demand for the fuel-efficient 737 MAX airplane family. Steven Udvar-Hazy, the Senior Vice President and Chief of Aircraft Operations at ACG, expressed delight over the expansion, emphasizing the versatility and high fuel efficiency that the new additions would bring to airline customers globally.

737 MAX Family: The Epitome of Efficiency and Flexibility

The 737 MAX family is a beacon of efficiency and flexibility, especially for short- and medium-haul air travel, making it a prized asset for airplane lessors like ACG. The family remains a favorite in the industry, with lessors ordering over 1,300 737 MAX jets. The 737-8 and 737-10 variants, capable of carrying up to 210 and 230 passengers, respectively, promise reduced fuel use and carbon emissions by 20% compared to their predecessors, marking a significant stride towards green aviation.

A Commitment to Sustainable Aviation

Christy Reese, Boeing Vice President of Global Leasing Commercial Sales & Marketing, highlighted ACG's growing and diverse 737 MAX portfolio, which empowers customers to operate a more sustainable and efficient fleet. She noted the company's eagerness to assist ACG in delivering the industry's most fuel-efficient airplanes to its airline partners, fostering a future of sustainable aviation.

A Quieter Airplane with a Smaller Carbon Footprint

The 737 MAX promises reduced CO₂ emissions and offers a quieter flight experience with a 50% smaller noise footprint compared to the airplanes it is set to replace. This translates to an annual reduction of up to eight million pounds of CO₂ emissions per airplane, setting a new standard in the industry's move towards sustainability.
