FORT WORTH, Texas — American Airlines is set to enhance its network by introducing seven new routes in the summer of 2024. These additions aim to provide customers with increased options to explore New England and Nova Scotia coastal destinations.
The airline's expansion will include six new cities accessible from New York LaGuardia Airport (LGA), bringing the total number of nonstop destinations from LGA to 75. Brian Znotins, American's Senior Vice President of Network and Schedule Planning, highlighted the airline's commitment to offering a comprehensive network. He stated, "New service to Hyannis, expanded service from New York, and more international service grows the largest global network in the United States, connecting more cities than any other U.S. carrier."
Starting June 5, 2024, American Airlines will commence service to Hyannis, Massachusetts (HYA) from LGA and Washington Reagan National Airport (DCA). Notably, American will be the sole global network carrier to serve this airport, offering over 80 destinations across North America with a single stop to Cape Cod's gateway.
Furthermore, the airline will introduce service to five cities along the Northeastern coast from LGA. This includes an exclusive service from LGA to Halifax, Canada (YHZ). The detailed schedule for the new routes is as follows:
- DCA to Hyannis, Massachusetts (HYA) starting June 22, 2024, with daily summer service using the Embraer E175 aircraft.
- LGA to various destinations, including Bangor, Maine (BGR); Halifax, Canada (YHZ); Hyannis, Massachusetts (HYA); Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts (MVY); Nantucket, Massachusetts (ACK); and Portland, Maine (PWM) starting from June 5, 2024, with daily or twice daily services using the Embraer E175 aircraft.
In the upcoming summer, American Airlines will offer over 20 daily departures from Maine to six U.S. gateways. This will facilitate one-stop connections to more than 200 global destinations, making it easier for travelers to explore Maine's scenic coastline and indulge in its renowned lobster delicacies.
American Airlines remains the only U.S. carrier providing flights to Nova Scotia, granting travelers access to iconic locations like the Bay of Fundy and Peggy's Cove.
AdvertisingAdditionally, the airline has announced two more international routes for the summer of 2024. This includes a new service from Charlotte (CLT) to Vancouver, Canada (YVR) and the resumption of nonstop flights between DCA and Bermuda (BDA) after a hiatus since 2019.
American Airlines' AAdvantage® loyalty program continues to offer rewarding travel experiences, allowing members to use miles for flights to nearly 1,000 global destinations.
