Air Transat, recently crowned the World's Best Leisure Airline at the 2023 Skytrax World Airline Awards, has unveiled its comprehensive summer flight program for 2024, operating from Montreal and Quebec City. This ambitious schedule indicates a significant resurgence, especially in its primary markets of Europe and the South.
Air Transat plans to operate over 180 direct weekly flights during the peak summer season, connecting to nearly 40 destinations. The year-round direct flights to Lima, Peru are a notable addition to their itinerary.
Michèle Barre, Transat's Chief Revenue Officer, commented on the airline's strategy, emphasizing their commitment to enhancing flight frequency to potential markets, expanding their global footprint, and reducing operational seasonality. Barre stated, "Our aim is to optimize our revenues and market share in Quebec while continuing our legacy of providing top-tier in-flight service."
European Expansion
Air Transat is set to bolster its European operations by increasing flight frequencies to countries including France, Belgium, the UK, Portugal, and Spain. From Montreal, travelers can access nearly 20 European destinations with direct flights. The airline will also increase its presence in Bordeaux, Lyon, Marseille, and Barcelona. Quebec City will see an additional flight to Paris, bringing the total direct flights to four per week.

For sun-seekers, Air Transat is enhancing its offerings to popular Southern destinations. Notably, the airline will now operate year-round flights to Lima, Peru. Other destinations, including Cancun, Cayo Coco, Holguin, Montego Bay, Puerto Plata, Punta Cana, Santa Clara, and Varadero, will also see increased flight frequencies from Montreal.
U.S. Accessibility
Air Transat is amplifying its services to the U.S., particularly in Florida. Daily flights to Fort Lauderdale and Orlando are now on the cards. Additionally, there will be an extra direct flight to Los Angeles, California.
