Alaska Airlines and Condor Airlines Strengthen Ties with Bilateral Codeshare Agreement

Alaska Airlines has taken a significant step in enhancing its global connectivity by expanding its partnership with Germany's Condor Airlines through a bilateral codeshare agreement. This strategic move, which builds upon their partnership since March 2017, is set to streamline the travel experience for passengers, offering a more seamless journey across an extensive network of routes.

The codeshare agreement allows both Alaska and Condor to market and sell seats on each other's flights, effectively broadening their reach and simplifying the booking process for travelers. Condor has initiated the sale of more than 70 Alaska routes across the United States, while Alaska has reciprocated by offering flights from Condor’s 12 U.S. gateway cities to Frankfurt, the German carrier's main hub.

This collaboration is a boon for flyers who can now enjoy the convenience of purchasing connecting flights on both airlines under a single reservation. The partnership promises seamless ticketing, check-in, boarding, and checked baggage transfer, enhancing the overall travel experience.

Nat Pieper, Alaska Airlines' Senior Vice President of Fleet, Finance, and Alliances, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, emphasizing the ease of access it provides to global destinations. He also hinted at future expansions of the codeshare to destinations beyond Frankfurt.

Condor's commitment to comfort and innovation is evident in its fleet enhancement with the Airbus A330neo, acclaimed for its quiet cabin. The airline offers a three-class configuration on its flights between the U.S. and Germany, including a newly launched business class with lie-flat seats, a premium economy with additional legroom, and an upgraded economy class. All cabins feature state-of-the-art inflight entertainment systems with 4K monitors and Bluetooth connectivity.

Moreover, Condor is set to expand its U.S. presence with the announcement of new nonstop services from Miami and San Antonio to Frankfurt starting May 2024.

Alaska Airlines, a member of the oneworld Alliance, along with its additional airline partners, offers its guests the ability to earn and redeem miles globally through the Mileage Plan program. The alliance also ensures that elite status on Alaska is recognized across the oneworld network, providing immediate benefits.
