Wizz Air Expands Fleet with an Additional 75 Airbus A321neo Family Aircraft

In a significant move that underscores its commitment to sustainable and affordable air travel, Wizz Air, the fastest-growing European ultra-low-cost airline, has inked a firm contract for an additional 75 A321neo Family aircraft. This development, announced on August 2, 2023, elevates Wizz Air's total order for the largest member of the Airbus single-aisle to a staggering 434, and for the A320 Family overall to 565 aircraft.

A Steadfast Commitment to Neo Technology

József Váradi, CEO of Wizz Air, expressed that this announcement further cements Wizz Air's position as the largest A321neo Family operator in Europe and the Middle East. "More than half our fleet has already been converted to cutting-edge neo technology. The A321neo’s unparalleled economic efficiency and remarkably low carbon footprint underpin our commitment to provide affordable and sustainable travel options for our customers," Váradi noted. He emphasized the airline's unwavering commitment to this exceptional technology, with one of the largest outstanding order books globally, featuring more than 350 neo aircraft.

A321neo: A Beacon of Efficiency and Comfort

The A321neo is the largest Airbus A320neo Family member, offering unparalleled range and performance. Incorporating new generation engines and Sharklets, the aircraft promises a 50% noise reduction and over 20% fuel savings and CO₂ reduction compared to previous generation single-aisle aircraft. This innovation ensures maximized passenger comfort in the widest single-aisle cabin in the sky. To date, nearly 5,200 A321neos have been ordered by customers globally, showcasing its dominant presence in the aviation market.
