WestJet has announced the reintroduction of its transborder service between Victoria and Las Vegas, marking the airline's first such connection from the island since 2017. Starting February 1, 2024, WestJet will provide non-stop service on this route twice weekly, every Thursday and Sunday. This move is part of WestJet's ongoing commitment to enhancing its offerings in Western Canada, mainly focusing on sun and leisure destinations.

WestJet's Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer John Weatherill, commented on the new addition to the airline's winter schedule. He stated, "WestJet is proud to bolster Victoria's transborder connectivity to Las Vegas. As we aim to offer Canadians more affordable and convenient options to escape the winter chill, Victoria remains a pivotal part of our Western Canada expansion strategy."

Elizabeth M. Brown, President and CEO of the Victoria Airport Authority, expressed her enthusiasm for the renewed WestJet service to Las Vegas. She emphasized the convenience of the non-stop service for Greater Victoria and Vancouver Island residents. Brown also highlighted the significance of this move in the post-pandemic recovery efforts of the Victoria Airport Authority (YYJ) and appreciated WestJet's unwavering support for the region.
