Amman, Jordan – In a strategic move to modernize and expand its widebody fleet, Royal Jordanian, the flag carrier of Jordan, has announced an order for four Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner jets. This order, announced at the Dubai Airshow, adds to a previous order for two 787-9s, bringing the airline's total 787-9 backlog to six aircraft.

Samer Majali, Vice Chairman and CEO of Royal Jordanian, emphasized that the decision to incorporate additional 787-9 Dreamliners is a testament to the airline's dedication to providing an unparalleled travel experience. The 787-9 model, capable of flying 296 passengers up to 14,010 km (7,565 nautical miles), will enable the airline to transport more passengers and cargo farther, enhancing its ability to connect Amman with major global destinations. Majali highlighted that the airline's current fleet of 787-8 Dreamliners has successfully connected Amman to key global cities, and the new order underscores Royal Jordanian's forward-looking approach and commitment to meeting the growing demand for long-haul travel.

Stan Deal, President and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, remarked that this order for additional 787s reflects Royal Jordanian's longstanding commitment to the market-leading capabilities of the Dreamliner. Enhancing In-Flight Connectivity
Boeing Global Services will provide modification services for Royal Jordanian's in-service 787s to enhance in-flight connectivity for passengers and crew. This agreement includes Boeing performing the engineering work and supplying kits for the modifications, further improving the passenger experience on existing aircraft.

Boeing's 2023 Commercial Market Outlook (CMO) highlights a growing need for widebody airplanes in the Middle East, driven by increasing passenger demand.
