Toronto, Canada - Porter Airlines, a prominent player in the North American aviation sector, has announced the inauguration of two new flight routes to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Ottawa International Airport (YOW). This expansion marks a significant enhancement in the airline's Florida offerings, catering to the growing demand for travel between Eastern Canada and the Sunshine State.

Aircraft and Flight Details

The new routes to Fort Lauderdale will be operated daily using the 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. This aircraft features a two-by-two configuration, eliminating the discomfort of middle seats and ensuring a more pleasant flight experience for all passengers.

For the first time, these routes will enable passengers to enjoy Porter's renowned style, care, and charm on flights connecting Fort Lauderdale to Western Canada destinations such as Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver, with connections via Toronto Pearson and Ottawa International.

Mark Laroche, President and CEO of Ottawa International Airport, also welcomed the new routes, emphasizing the convenience they offer to the region's sizable snowbird population who favor South Florida for winter stays.

Khalil Lamrabet, Chief Commercial Officer at the Greater Toronto Airports Authority, noted that Fort Lauderdale was the most in-demand US route from Pearson last winter. He expressed excitement over Porter's commitment to expanding its network at YYZ, satisfying passenger demand and providing more travel options.
