Hawaiian Airlines to Revive Tokyo-Haneda to Kona Service in October

Hawaiian Airlines has announced the resumption of its service between Tokyo's Haneda Airport (HND) and Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport (KOA) starting this October, marking a significant step in restoring its Japan network to meet the growing demand.

Phased Resumption of Services

The airline will initiate the service with three flights operating from October 29 to November 4, followed by the commencement of regular weekly service from November 22. Hawaiian Airlines plans to gradually return to its original thrice-weekly schedule by March 2024.

Takaya Shishido, Japan country director at Hawaiian Airlines, expressed delight in resuming the non-stop service between Tokyo and Hawaiʻi Island, emphasizing the airline's strategy to gradually increase weekly services to cater to their guests effectively.

Flight Schedule Details

The detailed flight schedule is as follows:

  • October 29 - November 4
  • HA851 (KOA-HND): Departure at 18:15, Arrival at 22:00 (Operating days: Oct. 29, Nov. 1, Nov. 3)
  • HA852 (HND-KOA): Departure at 23:55, Arrival at 12:50
  • From November 22
  • HA851 (KOA-HND): Starts with a weekly service, increasing to twice weekly from March 1, 2024, and thrice weekly from March 13, 2024
  • HA852 (HND-KOA): Departure at 23:55

Aircraft and Amenities

The airline will operate the Japan routes with the spacious 278-seat Airbus A330 aircraft, equipped with 18 Premium Cabin fully lie-flat seats, 68 Extra Comfort seats, and 192 Main Cabin seats, ensuring a comfortable journey for all passengers.

Supporting Maui’s Recovery

In light of recent wildfires restricting access to West Maui, Hawaiian Airlines has launched initiatives like "Malama Maui" and "Travel Pono Maui" to aid recovery efforts and guide visitors on how to support the local communities during their stay.
