Emirates and Air Canada Strengthen Codeshare Partnership with Flights to and from Montréal
Emirates announced on August 17, 2023, the expansion of its codeshare partnership with Air Canada, now encompassing flights to and from Montréal. This development comes on the heels of Emirates' recent introduction of services to Québec’s largest city in July.
The enhanced partnership allows Emirates customers to seamlessly plan their travel between 11 key domestic points beyond Montréal and destinations within Emirates’ extensive network. This arrangement facilitates using services from both airlines on a single ticket, offering a streamlined travel experience.
The collaboration between Emirates and Air Canada now covers 11 destinations via Montréal, with an additional 69 points accessible from this gateway on an interline basis. Tickets for these routes are available through the Emirate's official website and select travel agencies.
This codeshare agreement provides passengers many options, ensuring smooth connections through Canada’s two primary cities to other destinations, such as Halifax, Edmonton, Ottawa, and Calgary. This is ideal for travelers on leisure trips, business journeys, or visiting loved ones. From Toronto, Emirates patrons can access 19 points with codeshare advantages and an additional 100 points through an interline setup.
Canadian travelers can effortlessly connect to Emirates’ services in either Montréal or Toronto, paving the way to explore diverse destinations across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East via Emirates’ central hub in Dubai.
AdvertisingEmirates continues to offer daily services to Dubai from Toronto aboard its flagship A380 aircraft. Additionally, the airline operates seven weekly flights between Montréal and Dubai with its Boeing 777 widebody aircraft. This ensures passengers have various options when planning their global travel itineraries, all with the promise of smooth connections.
One of the significant advantages for travelers using Emirates’ services is the ability to plan their entire journey on a single ticket. This includes availing of the airline’s baggage allowance and the convenience of checking their luggage through to their final destination. However, it's worth noting that international travelers flying to Canadian destinations must clear their baggage with Canadian Customs at their first point of entry, be it Toronto or Montréal.
Lastly, Emirates Skywards frequent flyer program members can benefit from the partnership by earning and redeeming miles on flights operated by both airlines.
