Delta to Initiate First-Ever Haneda to Honolulu Service in October

Delta Air Lines is set to launch its inaugural nonstop daily service between Tokyo International Airport (Haneda) and Honolulu International Airport, marking a significant milestone in its operations. The service, the first of its kind since Delta shifted all its Tokyo operations from Narita Airport to Haneda in March 2020, will commence on October 28, 2023, with the Haneda-Honolulu nonstop service beginning a day later on October 29, 2023. The initiation of this route had been postponed due to the pandemic.

The flights will be operated using the Boeing 767-300ER aircraft, which offers various seating options, including Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+, and Main Cabin. The Delta One section promises a luxurious experience with total flat-bed seats, premium amenities such as Someone Somewhere amenity kits, and a range of beverage options before take-off. Passengers in this category can also look forward to chef-curated meals and a selection of desserts, including a build-your-own ice cream sundae bar.

Delta Premium Select customers will enjoy wider seats with deeper recline features, adjustable footrests and leg rest, and an enhanced dining experience complemented by premium hand-crafted amenities. The service in this category is designed to elevate the journey with dedicated service touchpoints.

Regardless of the seating category chosen, all passengers will have access to seat-back screens offering hours of complimentary premium entertainment through Delta Studio. The airline also ensures in-seat power availability and high-speed Wi-Fi, slated to become complimentary by the end of 2024. The renowned Chef Norio Ueno crafts the Japanese menu available in all cabins. Moreover, eligible customers will have access to the Delta Sky Club at both Haneda and Honolulu airports.

The flight schedule is as follows:

  • Flight DL180: Departs from Haneda at 9:00 p.m., arriving in Honolulu at 8:55 a.m. (same day) – operates daily using the B767-300ER aircraft.
  • Flight DL181: Departs from Honolulu at 2:00 p.m., arriving in Haneda at 6:45 p.m. (next day) – operates daily using the B767-300ER aircraft.

(Note: The schedule is subject to change.)

Victor Osumi, Delta's Managing Director and President – Japan, expressed the company's strong commitment to both markets, emphasizing the enhanced options and destinations available from Haneda and Delta's premium experience both on the ground and in the air.

In a humanitarian gesture, Delta has donated $250,000 to the American Red Cross and dispatched immediate supplies to Hawaii to aid those affected by the wildfires in Maui. The airline encourages its employees and customers to make monetary contributions to assist the impacted individuals further.
