CAE Introduces Innovative Master Technician Program for Business Aircraft Maintenance

CAE, a global simulation and training solutions leader, has unveiled its new Master Technician Program at the NBAA Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition. This program is tailored for organizations and individuals aiming to achieve the pinnacle of technical excellence and professionalism in business aircraft maintenance.

Program Highlights and Objectives

The Master Technician Program responds to the growing demand for certified technical and leadership skills in the aviation maintenance sector. CAE's 2023 Aviation Talent Forecast indicates a requirement for 402,000 new maintenance technicians worldwide over the next decade, with 74,000 specifically in the business aviation segment.

CAE's revamped program offers two distinct tracks for technicians:

  1. Specialist Track: Focused on enhancing specific technical skills.
  2. People Leader Track: Concentrated on leadership and management capabilities.

Technicians can progress through three achievement levels: Certified, Advanced, and Master. This structured approach allows participants to attain the Master Technician status more swiftly than in previous career development programs.

Alexandre Prevost, CAE's Division President of Business Aviation and Helicopter Training, emphasized the program's significance, stating, "The CAE Master Technician program provides technicians with structured paths to enhance their skills and progress in their careers. As a significant portion of the current aircraft maintenance technician workforce nears retirement, this program is crucial for nurturing the upcoming generation of professionals, ensuring they possess the requisite skills and knowledge to maintain the industry's safety standards."
