Toulouse, November 2023 – Brussels Airlines, Belgium's flag carrier and a proud member of the Lufthansa Group, has marked a significant milestone in its journey towards sustainability and modernization. The airline has taken delivery of its first A320neo, the first of five such aircraft, in a move that aligns with its ambitious sustainability goals and fleet renewal strategy.

The introduction of the A320neo into Brussels Airlines' fleet is a clear statement of the airline's commitment to environmental stewardship. The aircraft, renowned for its efficiency, incorporates the latest technologies, including the new-generation CFM International LEAP-1A engines and Sharklets. These innovations collectively contribute to a reduction in fuel burn and CO2 emissions by at least 20 percent, making the A320neo a frontrunner in eco-friendly air travel. Additionally, its 50 percent lower noise footprint compared to previous generation aircraft makes it a more considerate neighbor at airports.

Enhanced Passenger Experience

Brussels Airlines' A320neo features a single-class layout with 180 seats, offering a spacious and comfortable journey. The aircraft is equipped with the Airbus Airspace cabin, known for elevating passenger comfort to new heights. The cabin's unique and customizable lighting creates a serene ambiance for all flight phases, enhancing passenger relaxation in what is the widest and quietest cabin in its class.

The new A320neo is a strategic addition to Brussels Airlines' all-Airbus fleet, which now includes 43 aircraft, comprising 34 A320 Family aircraft and nine A330-300s. Tailored for the European market, the A320neo is set to serve the carrier’s short- to medium-haul network, offering an optimal balance of efficiency and comfort.
