airBaltic, already operating a fleet of 44 A220-300s, is currently the world's largest operator of this aircraft model. The airline's relationship with the Airbus A220-300 began in 2016 when it became the launch customer. In 2020, airBaltic made a strategic decision to refresh its fleet to operate exclusively with the A220-300 type.

It stands out for its 25% lower fuel burn and CO2 emissions per seat compared to previous generation aircraft, and boasts the largest cabin, seats, and windows in its class, ensuring superior passenger comfort.

All Airbus aircraft, including the A220, can currently operate with up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). Airbus aims to enable all its aircraft to operate with 100% SAF by 2030, aligning with global sustainability goals.
